MCB Alumínios, a company founded by Manuel Correia Bettencourt, follows the continuity of his family’s history in this field of activity, which began in 1857 with his grandfather Manuel Corrêa Bettencourt and later his father Manuel Soares Correia, in which both dedicated themselves to the manufacture of wrought iron and artistic metalwork, in a workshop in Largo Mártires da Pátria in Ponta Delgada. Following in the footsteps of his ancestors Manuel Correia Bettencourt sets up MCB Alumínios in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, as there was no company in the sector in this city.

Thus, in 1985 he began by establishing himself in a small branch of a banking entity, where he remained for almost a decade. Despite being a small space, he was always a visionary, and never failed to modernize and equip the best in machinery for cutting and assembling aluminum frames, thus envisioning the company’s growth with the projection of a new space.

In 1994, it stood out in its area with the inauguration of a new space, the first warehouse in the Ribeira Grande Industrial Park. Over the following 30 years, it continued to grow until reaching 3500 square meters, where it currently houses all of its services, standing out for having a complete response, from the cutting section, manufacturing of double glazing, treatment and lacquering of aluminum profiles.

In February 2016, after the death of Manuel Correia Bettencourt, his legacy was handed over to his son Mark Correia Bettencourt, also with the initials MCB, continuing his family’s history in this sector of activity and ensuring the future MCB Alumínios
